Bibliography
Dr.Natsaran Saichana graduated from Khon Kaen University with a B.Sc. (Biotechnology) and received the Monbukagakusho: MEXT scholarship to pursue the master and doctoral degrees in Japan. He received the Master of Agriculture in Biological Chemistry in 2006 from Yamaguchi University and received a Ph.D. (Bioresources Science) in 2009 from the United Graduate School of Agricultural Science, Tottori University. He worked as a post-doctoral researcher at Yamaguchi University from 2009 to 2011. After that he was a lecturer at the Faculty of Science and Technology at Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University in Chanthaburi, Thailand. In 2013, he received a post-doctoral fellow scholarship from the European Union and worked as a junior researcher at the Center of the Region Haná for Biotechnological and Agricultural Research, Palacký University of Olomouc, Czech Republic. Since April of 2016, he has been working as a lecturer at the School of Science, Mae Fah Luang University.
His previous researches focused on genetic manipulation of bacteria for metabolic engineering or enzyme studies. He has several years of experience in studying enzymes and metabolic pathways in the oxidative fermentation systems of acetic acid bacteria. He also expanded his research to study the biosynthesis pathway of pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) in Methylobacterium extorquens. He continued his interest in bacterial metabolisms especially for the group of thermotolerant acetic acid bacteria at Mae Fah Luang University. Since the university located in Chiang Rai, which is in the northern part of Thailand with largest area of coffee plantation, his research interest has been expanded to the improvement of coffee quality in order to transfer the knowledge and technology to help the local coffee farmers in the area.
Dr.Natsaran Saichana has experiences in several government consulting programs to help local enterprises such as Talent Mobility program for SMEs, small business consultant for the Ministry of Industry, and consultant in the Industrial Research and Development Capacity Building – IRD Cap Building program. Dr.Natsaran Saichana is now the current of the Biosciences Major of the School of Science, Mae Fah Luang University.
